How long does a felony stay on your record?

I have a diagnosis of PTSD as well as neruopathic pain. I am prescribed Klonopin 1mg 3x's per day and Suboxone 8mg 2x's per day. I know I have to bring in my own meds and I will have a letter from my Dr. Being that these are controlled medicines, will the jail nurse dispence these as written? Need to know because abrupt discontinuation of Klonopin can be very life theratening.
